Records from Enrollment to Graduation
The Office of the Registrar is dedicated to providing the best possible service to all members of the Ellington community. The office maintains academic records from enrollment through graduation and offers a wide range of services in the areas of enrollment, residency verification, enrollment verification, graduation verification, current student and alumni transcripts, and student withdrawal.

We EMPOWER students with the necessary information to apply for scholarships, apply to study in institutions of higher learning and display DIGNITY by support for every student’s present and future academic and artistic endeavors.

TRANSCRIPTS & RECORDS
Current Students: For record requests, please send an email to nydia.ramirez@k12.dc.gov,
nramirez@ellingtonarts.org, or stop by my office to receive a copy adorned with the official Duke Ellington seal. I'm here to assist you with delight!
DESA Alumni: If you completed high school after 1999, please get in touch with our registrar. They will confirm your graduation date, start the process of issuing a duplicate diploma, and arrange for it to be sent to you. The reprinting of diplomas is managed by the DCPS Central Record Office. Kindly allow up to 30 days for processing. And remember to provide the name you used during your time at DESA.

Western Alumni: For all Western High School record inquiries, please direct requests to the DCPS warehouse, managed by the DCPS Central Record Office. Processing may take up to 30 days. Kindly ensure to provide the name used during attendance at DESA. Please anticipate possible delays during peak demand periods such as Admissions season (Feb-Mar), enrollment season (Apr-June), and the annual enrollment audit season (Sept-Nov).
NOTES: ALUMNI REQUESTS THAT ARE NOT SUBMITTED VIA FORM MAY REQUIRE A LONGER PROCESSING TIME. REQUESTS REGARDING RECORDS PRIOR TO 2004 MAY REQUIRE ADDITIONAL PROCESSING TIME AS WELL. ALL REQUESTS WILL BE ANSWERED IN THE ORDER IN WHICH THEY ARE RECEIVED. Please plan for delays during certain high demand times: Admissions season (Feb-March), enrollment season (Apr-August), annual enrollment audit season (Sept-Nov).
ENROLLMENT
Current Families: Enrollment for the SY24-25 academic year will commence in April 2024! Please be reminded that this process must be completed annually to secure your student's seat for the upcoming year. It is crucial for families to submit a NEW updated enrollment packet each year.
Enrollment Verification: Requests for enrollment verification must be made via email, nramirez@ellingtonarts.org Please ensure the former student's name (at time of attendance), date of birth, year of graduation (or exit if non-grad) and proof of consent to release information are all provided.
CHANGE OF ADDRESS
We appreciate updates to student/parent information so we can keep you informed. Please note an official change of address requires the parent/guardian to complete and submit the following to the Registrar Office within three days of your relocation:
