Opening Reception Thursday, September 7, 2023 6:00 p.m. -7:30 p.m.
The students & faculty of Duke Ellington School of the Arts Museum Studies Department held their first opening of the year opening reception for "FiftyPlus...", a special exhibition of mixed media art by selected professional artists and students commemorating the almost 50-year anniversary of the establishment of Ellington. Featured artists included: Monifa T. Christian, Julee Dickerson-Thompson, Aziza Claudia Gibson-Hunter, Jarvis Grant, Francine Haskins, Justin Johnson, Russell Lewis, Jeannette Murphy, Faith Ringgold, Marie Ringwald, Benjamin Rivera, Francesca Scott, Rhonda Silver, Yemonja Smalls, Munirah Smith-Gray, Hank Willis Thomas, Derrick Vaughn, Sally Tsou Yick, and Selected MS Students.
