DR. LAMMAN Rucker is an Actor, Educator, Activist and Entrepreneur who, since his childhood years, has used his platform, passion and purpose to empower, educate and ignite communities through artistic, philanthropic and academic innovation. Although celebrating 25 years of film and television excellence, it’s amazing to accept that his best work still remains to be seen.

DR. LAMMAN is currently Associate Producer and Leading Man of an all-star cast in the NAACP IMAGE AWARD nominated hit new BET series, The Black Hamptons, where he portrays wealthy tech genius and inventor, ‘Anthony Johnson’. This comes after the resounding success of his role as ‘Jacob Greenleaf’ in Oprah Winfrey’s groundbreaking debut drama series, Greenleaf, on the OWN Network. Always addressing the topics of family, fatherhood and relationships head-on, LAMMAN has shown us what it looks like for a man to manage a wide range of emotional depth in his roles. We’ve seen what it takes to work and live with brilliant and gorgeous wife, ‘Sasha’ (Denise Bouttè) and successfully parent two adopted children and an ’off-the-chain’ uncle in his role as ‘Dr. Will Brown’ in the hilarious, Meet The Browns. He has taken us along the journey of touching the troubled heart of a woman like Paula Patton on Sacrifice (BET+), of competing for Mona’s love and commitment as the handsome entrepreneur, ‘Chase’, on the dearly missed, Half & Half (Bounce TV) to finding love, again, after divorce on All Of Us (UPN) but Taraji P. Henson plays your ex-wife who stalks you. We witnessed how one can suffer the consequences of greed, power and narcissism in the legendary daytime mainstays, As The World Turns (CBS) and All My Children (ABC). Every time, bringing charm, joy, hope and authenticity to each character; expanding how our television screens give us insight into the soul of a man.

Through his production company, Black Tiger Edutainment, LAMMAN has also become an impressive movie producer in addition to his powerful screen presence in numerous high-grossing films and independent favorites like the sexy thriller The Man in 3B (Netflix); historical and heartwarming Service to Man (Amazon Prime); motivational Bad Dad Rehab 2 (TV One); hilarious and romantic First Impression (Amazon Prime) and the adorable and moving, Cooking Up Christmas (OWN). This, of course, after introducing himself to us in his 1998 big screen debut in the undeniable classic, The Temptations, as ‘Jimmy Ruffin’, then stealing women’s hearts, again, around the world 10 years later, opposite the gorgeous and multitalented Jill Scott as the handsome, valiant and unforgettable, ‘Sheriff Troy’, in Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married? films.

On stage, LAMMAN may be even more impressive. As a classically trained actor, he has performed and studied greats from Aristophanes to August Wilson. In the award-winning original Off-Broadway production of Black Angels Over Tuskegee, LAMMAN brought intellect, pride and consciousness to former heavyweight champ and fighter pilot, ‘Elijah Williams’. In the captivating and emotional roller coaster, WE-BE-I-ME, LAMMAN was absolutely riveting as he convincingly transformed his 6’-4” frame to embody the innocence, beauty, pain and trauma of an 8-year old boy recalling his childhood experience with physical and sexual abuse. He brought thunder, vulnerability and density to ‘Booster’ in Jitney. He sang his heart out for love and reconciliation in musicals like The Perfect Mate and Sweet Charity, among others. Whether he makes you laugh or cry, LAMMAN has proven gifts that never disappoint and forever leave audiences wanting more.

When not performing, DR. LAMMAN makes even bigger waves with his relentless commitment to social justice, youth empowerment, climate change, HIV & AIDS, financial literacy, mental health and more. He is a spokesperson for several charitable efforts and community action initiatives which span the globe including the Just Heal, Bro! Tour, Silence The Shame, Association of Black Cardiologists, AIDS Healthcare Foundation, The Black AIDS Institute, The Magic Johnson Foundation, B-Me Community, Dream Corps, Tied To Greatness and A.H.E.A.D., Inc., to name a few. He is the CEO and Co-Founder of non-profit, The Black Gents - an all-Black male collective of actors and artists driven to resurrect, restore and refine the positive images of Black men and boys through mentoring, cinema, sophistication and service.

A prolific speaker, educator and motivator, DR. LAMMAN has travelled the international speaking circuit at a long list of corporate conferences, university commencements and masterclasses, marketing campaigns and philanthropic endeavors. Serving as a board member of impactful organizations and institutions like Green For All focusing on equitable access to clean food, air and water; Project Pneuma (Noomah) which invests in the social-emotional development of boys of color; A.H.E.A.D. Inc. who builds hospitals, clinics, schools and water purification systems in Tanzania and even elite HBCU - Hampton University’s School of Liberal Arts & Education where he adds his genius to the innovation of their academic programs, strategic partnerships and fine arts offerings. With a Bachelors degree in Business & Computer Science, a Masters in Education, three honorary doctorates and as a former K-8 math teacher and champion high school basketball coach, DR. LAMMAN has demonstrated his immeasurable value and devotion to the safety, spiritual, intellectual and character development of our children. Developing programs and curriculums for the performing arts, computer science camps and youth entrepreneurship training along with his contributions to books like Saving Our Daughters, Voices From the Bayou, Fatherhood and best-seller, REACH: 40 Black Men Speak on Living, Leading and Succeeding, are further testimonies to such.
