
Biography
Kevin E. Thorne II is a Washington, D.C.-based actor, playwright, and educator whose work reflects his passion for the performing arts. Known for powerful performances, Thorne has earned critical acclaim for roles such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in The Mountaintop at Lyric Repertory Theatre and Nat Turner in Nat Turner in Jerusalem at NextStop Theatre. His role in Tempestuous at Arena Stage further highlighted his versatility and talent. In addition to his acting career, Thorne has been teaching at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts for nearly six years, where he introduces 9th graders to theatre and dramatics. A true Renaissance man, his wide-ranging skills, percussion, puppetry, tap dancing, ventriloquism, and trombone playing bring unique creativity to his work on and off stage.
