Biography

Before making Duke Ellington his artistic home, Ken Johnson had a long and distinguished career in the professional theatre, television and film industry. He is a founding member of the internationally acclaimed, Tony Award winning, Crossroads Theatre Company, where he served as Associate Producer, as well as a resident director for ten seasons. His professional directing credits include, To Be Young, Gifted and Black, Home, Slow Dance on the Killing Ground, Playboy of the West Indies and The Colored Museum. He attended Rutgers’s University and is a member of Actor’s Equity and The Director’s Guild of America.
