Biography
Katie deBuys is very proud to be on the faculty here at Duke Ellington as an Acting Teacher. Katie has been an active member of the DC theatre community for fifteen years as an actor and educator, having performed at the Woolly mammoth Theatre Company, Folger Shakespeare Theatre, Shakespeare Theatre Company, Round House Theatre, Theatre J, and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, among others. A native of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Katies holds a B.S. in Theatre from Northwestern University, an M.F.A in Acting from the University of Texas at Austin, and is a proud member of the Actor’s Equity Association, the union of professional American Actors and Stage Managers. Seeing theatre and acting through the eyes of these extraordinary young artists at Duke Ellington is one of the great joys and honors of Katie’s life.
