Biography
Jackie Love-Baker, Director of Development
As the Director of Development since early 2021, she has worked closely with the Ellington Fund, Principal Logan, Arts Chairs, and others at DESA to raise funding from the DC government, private foundations, corporations, major donors and other individuals. She helps to coordinate events and sponsorships along with handling legacy and endowment gifts. Prior to joining DESA, Jackie spent over a decade as a director of a legal services program helping domestic violence victims where she secured over a million dollars from the U.S. Office on Violence Against Women. For the last 8 years, she has focused exclusively on raising money for various non-profits in the District. Jackie is a licensed attorney in California and the District of Columbia. She is also a member of the U.S. Patent and Trade Office. She holds a law degree from the University of San Diego and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of California at San Diego.
